INTRODUCTION
Rutherfordium is an unstable radioactive chemical element with atomic number 104. It was named after the British physicist Ernest Rutherford. The element was temporarily named unnilquadium until 1997 when it was changed to rutherfordium
Modern atomic theory predicts that element 104 would be chemically similar to hafnium, but the element decays so quickly that testing its chemical properties is difficult.
