INTRODUCTION

Fermium is an artificially produced radioactive element, and one of the transuranium (elements that is after uranium on the periodic table) in the actinide series of the periodic table. It was named after Enrico Fermi.

The element was first isolated from the debris of a hydrogen bomb explosion, and have since been produced by cyclotron bombardment.
