INTRODUCTION

Mendelevium is a synthetic short-lived radioactive element, and one of the transuranium (elements that is after uranium on the periodic table) in the actinide series of the periodic table.

It was named after the Russian chemist Dmitry Ivanovich Mendeleyev, who predicted the properties of undiscovered elements from their positions in his periodic table of the elements.
